QA Lead Engineer (all genders) – Software Testing & Automation

You will be responsible for the quality of our software and will establish a modern, scalable QA

setup. As a QA Lead, you will shape strategy, processes, and tools—and ensure that quality is

an integral part of our product development, not just a final step before release.

Your Responsibilities

· Establish and continuously develop the company-wide QA strategy

· Lead and coach a QA team

· Implement and scale test automation (API, integration, E2E)

· Define quality standards, test processes, and best practices

· Integrate QA into the CI/CD pipeline (Shift Left approach)

· Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and (if applicable) Compliance/Operations

· Analyze root causes and establish sustainable improvement processes

· Select and implement suitable tools and technologies

· Report on quality metrics (e.g., bug rate, test coverage, release stability)

Your Profile

· Several years of experience in software testing / QA engineering

· Experience in a lead or senior role

· Strong knowledge of test automation (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium)

· Experience with API testing and modern architectures (microservices, REST)

· Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)

· Experience in establishing QA processes and test strategies

· Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented way of working

· Very good German or English language skills

Nice to Have

· Experience in regulated industries (e.g., payroll, FinTech, compliance)

· Knowledge of performance and security testing

· Experience with DATEV interfaces or complex business logic

· ISTQB Advanced / Test Management certification
