Customer support, operational readiness and lifecycle performance
You will ensure products are designed with supportability at their core and remain safe, available, reliable, maintainable and mission-ready long after delivery. Working closely with engineering, operations, delivery and commercial teams, you will build scalable support frameworks that enable customers to maximise the value and performance of their assets throughout service life.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure and long-term thinking to complex engineering programmes, balancing customer needs with technical, operational and commercial considerations to deliver world-class support services.
Please note: this is a site-based role
What you will be doing
Develop and implement the company's Through Life Support strategy, establishing scalable support frameworks, policies, standards and performance measures that can support multiple programmes and customers
Lead Integrated Logistics Support activities, including maintenance concepts, supportability analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), reliability planning and the delivery of customer support artefacts aligned to contractual requirements
Establish and manage technical support services, including incident management, fault investigation, engineering reach-back and post-delivery support, ensuring rapid resolution of issues affecting operational assets
Define and optimise maintenance strategies, inspection regimes and asset health monitoring approaches that improve reliability, availability and operational performance throughout the product lifecycle
Develop spares strategies, provisioning plans and obsolescence management approaches, working closely with Supply Chain teams to ensure the availability of critical components and minimise support risks
Own configuration and technical documentation processes, ensuring product baselines, engineering changes, technical publications, maintenance manuals and user documentation remain accurate and controlled throughout service life
Act as the primary customer interface for support activities, leading reviews, monitoring contractual performance against KPIs and SLAs, and identifying opportunities for service improvement and support contract growth
Establish support reporting and governance frameworks, tracking availability, reliability, MTBF, MTTR and service performance metrics while driving continuous improvement initiatives
Who you are
Experienced in Through Life Support, Integrated Logistics Support, maintenance engineering, service delivery or a related engineering discipline, with a proven track record of building or leading support functions
Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability and availability principles, and how they influence product performance throughout the operational lifecycle
Comfortable working across engineering, operations, supply chain, production and commercial teams to ensure supportability is considered from concept through to retirement
Customer-focused and commercially aware, with experience managing customer relationships, support contracts and service performance in complex technical environments
Organised and methodical, capable of balancing strategic planning with practical day-to-day support delivery and operational problem-solving
Desirable
Experience supporting maritime, defence, aerospace, offshore, autonomous systems or other highly regulated and mission-critical environments
Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support methodologies and associated deliverables, including ILSPs, maintenance plans, provisioning and supportability analysis
Experience managing technical support services, warranty programmes, field service activities or post-delivery support organisations
Familiarity with configuration management, technical publications, asset management systems and lifecycle support tooling
Demonstrated experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives using support performance data and operational metrics
