About this opportunity:
Information and communication technology continues to transform how people live, work, and access services. Emerging technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and cloud services will enable new experiences for consumers and enterprises.
At Ericsson’s Consumer & Industry Lab, you will explore future technology for consumers, enterprises, and a more sustainable society. This thesis will investigate the network capabilities and user-perceived quality needed to support context-aware spatial experiences on AI/AR glasses.
What you will do:
Identify key network features, performance thresholds, and challenges in defining end-user Quality of Experience (QoE) for selected AI/AR glasses use cases.
Consider whether biometric measurements could be relevant to the scope.
Develop a feasibility report that answers the research question and proposes suitable ways to measure QoE for the selected use case(s).
Conduct user tests to measure QoE and document the results in the final report.
The skills you bring:
You are a master’s student with strong academic performance.
You have good knowledge of Unity, Unreal, OpenXR, Android XR, and AR/VR programming.
Experience developing applications for Meta Quest headsets or working with AR glasses is an advantage.
You have excellent written and spoken English.
The project is planned to start in winter or spring 2027.
