About this opportunity:
China has become one of the world’s most important AI markets, with rapid development across consumer and enterprise applications. Alongside advances in AI models, Chinese companies are developing distinctive ways to commercialise AI, including low-cost services, open-source models, AI-enabled consumer platforms, enterprise solutions, and agentic AI.
These business models are shaped by a dynamic ecosystem that includes large digital platforms, strong mobile and e-commerce markets, intense competition, rapid product iteration, and government support. It remains an open question which elements are specific to China and which could succeed in international markets. Understanding how these models travel—and what that could mean for the global telecom industry—is the focus of this thesis.
The project will focus primarily on China’s consumer market and relevant AI product areas, including models, applications, and devices.
What you will do:

Examines how these models influence global markets.
Assesses which elements may be transferable and competitive internationally.

The skills you bring:
A background in business studies.
Strong knowledge of AI technology and global AI developments.
Native-level Chinese language proficiency.
