Join AWS and help operate one of the world's most advanced cloud infrastructures serving European customers. As an intern on our Managed Operations team, you'll gain hands-on experience building, operating, and improving critical cloud services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and Bedrock. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to solve real operational challenges, contribute to system reliability and performance, and develop practical skills in cloud operations that will shape your career in technology.

Key job responsibilities

Monitor and analyze the operational health of cloud services, investigating anomalies and documenting findings in detailed reports

Execute changes to production systems following established change management processes and operational procedures

Collaborate with team members to resolve operational issues and improve system reliability

Develop and share automation scripts and tools that help the team diagnose and resolve problems more efficiently

Participate in on-call rotations to support incident response and maintain service availability

A day in the life

Your internship focuses on the operational excellence of the European Sovereign Cloud, a specialized AWS infrastructure serving EU customers. You'll spend your time monitoring the health of large-scale distributed systems, investigating anomalies to understand root causes, and documenting findings in actionable reports. You'll collaborate with your team to execute planned changes to production systems following established change management processes, and you'll help resolve operational issues from your team's backlog. Throughout the week, you might write automation scripts to help your team diagnose problems more efficiently, or participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with colleagues. You'll also gain exposure to on-call rotations, learning how to respond to incidents and support system reliability outside regular business hours.

About Amazon

Amazon hires more engineers in Europe than anyone else on this board, across Dublin, London, Berlin, Madrid, Luxembourg and Gdańsk. The breadth is the point: AWS infrastructure, retail systems, devices and logistics are very different jobs under one name, and team quality varies a lot between them. Worth filtering by role rather than browsing.
