Germany's tech market: 6,064 open roles and senior AI salaries above €180k
Published 16 October 2026 · data for the week of 5 October 2026 · EUROPE
Germany’s tech board grew to 6,064 open roles this week, 687 more than last week. Most of that is new coverage rather than fresh demand: Deloitte and CarOnSale just came onto the board and brought their backlogs with them. Among companies already listed, 531 roles opened and 639 closed, so the week lost more than it gained.
Pay tells the better story. Senior AI and research roles in Berlin now clear €180k, far above the market median. Remote is rarer than most people assume, at 15% of listings, and just 52 postings mention visa sponsorship at all.

The takeaway
If you're job-hunting in Germany, Berlin and Munich are where the roles are, with nearly half the market between them. Senior AI and research people can earn well above the median, though those figures come only from the postings that state a salary, so treat them as a signal rather than a guarantee.
