The trust of our customers, business partners and the public is our top priority at zooplus, which is why acting responsibly and in accordance with the law is of utmost importance to us. The Corporate Compliance department supports the business units, managers and employees in mastering the constantly growing challenges posed by criminal and regulatory law at national and international level and in making the right decisions. The focus is on compliance areas such as bribery & corruption, cartel law, money laundering prevention, trade sanctions, employer criminal law as well as business partner & value chain compliance.
The core task of Corporate Compliance is to implement an effective compliance management system that successfully promotes awareness of compliance risks and integrity, and that sustainably prevents potential misconduct. The aim is also to detect and remedy legal violations, investigate suspected cases and take immediate action if necessary.
We are looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our team at our headquarters in Munich to provide day-to-day compliance advice to the business units and to further expand our compliance management system.
Your Tasks:
You will independently advise all business units on compliance issues arising from day-to-day operations and strategic projects
You will carry out compliance reviews (e.g. gifts & hospitality, conflicts of interest, false self-employment), contract reviews and business partner assessments in accordance with internal standards and legal requirements
You will identify, assess and prioritise compliance risks and develop appropriate measures to mitigate them
You will manage existing compliance processes and drive their optimisation, standardisation and digitalisation
You will develop and implement internal compliance regulations, processes, controls and other compliance measures in line with the global compliance strategy
You will design and deliver target-group-specific communication and training initiatives to strengthen compliance awareness and integrity within the company in the long term
You will take on the operational management of compliance projects and support the further development of the compliance management system
You will plan, coordinate and carry out compliance monitoring activities and compliance audits
You will conduct internal investigations or coordinate complex investigations in collaboration with external partners
You will assist with communication with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders, as well as with handling regulatory enquiries.
Degree in economics, law or a comparable field of study
At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in compliance, risk management, governance or auditing within a consulting firm, audit firm or international company
Professional certification in compliance or auditing (e.g. CFE, CAMS or CIA) is desirable
In-depth knowledge of relevant German and international laws and regulations relating to anti-corruption, antitrust, anti-money laundering, trade sanctions, supply chain compliance and employer compliance
Experience in designing, implementing and continuously improving compliance measures, including policies, training, communications, procedures, controls, audits and investigations
Experience in compliance risk management and conducting compliance risk assessments
Strong stakeholder management, communication and change management skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical and business-friendly guidance
Profound understanding of operational business processes and experience embedding compliance requirements into business operations
Strong affinity for technical processes and IT solutions and, ideally, experience with the digitalisation and automation of compliance activities
Experience using compliance-specific tools, for example for risk assessments, compliance monitoring and business partner due diligence
Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as Visio or comparable process-mapping tools
Fluent written and spoken German and English skills
