Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

You are a Senior Software Engineer who will be joining the team of DevOps Engineers. The team maintains, supports and grows Wise’s Kubernetes based Compute Platform. You should be able to mentor your colleagues, lead projects and take ownership on initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Drive Automation and Efficiency: Innovate and implement cutting-edge automation solutions at both the infrastructure (AWS) and application levels, reducing manual overhead, accelerating deployment cycles, and increasing system resilience.

Architect and Enhance Our Platform: You will take ownership of significant system components, designing and implementing scalable solutions that handle complex operational loads with high reliability and security.

Active Collaboration and Leadership: While you will be deeply involved in hands-on technical work, your role also entails leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to share knowledge, mentor peers, and refine our engineering practices.

Embrace and Extend Cloud-Native Practices: With ongoing investments in AWS and Kubernetes, you will have the opportunity to lead initiatives that expand our capabilities in the cloud-native landscape, from developing Kubernetes operators to enhancing our service mesh infrastructure.

Must have:

Full proficiency(minimum 6 years of experience) in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Golang

Deep knowledge on designing and implementing Microservices and API-s

Strong background on building mission-critical Cloud Native Back-End Systems

String experience with LLM assisted coding practices and tools (e.g. Codex, Cursor)

Test and Quality Automation Expertise

Nice to have:

Kubernetes administration skills

Mentoring skills

Designing and building workflows

Temporal

Full stack software engineering experience

Team or project management experience
