Brief info about Vinted

Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.

The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:

Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.

Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.

Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.

Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people.

Information about the position

As Senior Compliance Manager you will support the Head of Compliance in running the compliance function of Vinted Pay, UAB - the Lithuanian entity. You will own the compliance monitoring programme, keep our policies current as the rules change, advise colleagues on what those rules mean in practice, and make sure that compliance issues are recorded, escalated and closed.

You will report to the Head of Compliance and act on their behalf in their absence, within the scope of delegated authority, including in dealings with the Bank of Lithuania. This is a second line of defence role: you operate independently of business and commercial decision-making and carry no revenue or sales targets.

In this position, you’ll

Support the Head of Compliance in running the compliance function, and substitute this role in the Head of Compliance’s absence within the delegated authority.

Participate in implementation and periodical review of the compliance monitoring programme, and carry out monitoring activities, control testing and effectiveness reviews.

Identify and assess compliance risks across the company and put proportionate measures in place to mitigate them.

Run regulatory horizon scanning and work out what regulatory developments mean for us in practice, then see the required changes through.

Draft, review and maintain the compliance policies and procedures so that they keep pace with legal and regulatory change.

Take part in the New Product Approval Process and advise colleagues on how applicable requirements apply to a specific product, process or initiative.

Register and manage compliance incidents and remediation actions, and run the escalation process and the regulatory requirements register.

Own the conflicts of interest framework, and organise and deliver compliance training.

Respond to regulatory requests, and support the Head of Compliance in audits and inspections and in reporting to the Management Board.

Report compliance issues, breaches and significant risks to the Head of Compliance, and escalate directly to the CEO or the Management Board where a matter cannot wait or falls outside the delegated authority.

About you

Have solid experience in a regulatory compliance function, preferably within a payment institution, electronic money institution, bank or another regulated financial institution.

In-depth knowledge of the Lithuanian and EU rules that apply to electronic money and payment institutions, including the Law on Electronic Money and Electronic Money Institutions, the Law on Payments, AML/CTF legislation and the related guidelines.

Demonstrated ability to build and run a compliance monitoring programme and to turn regulatory change into concrete internal action.

Able to advise the business in plain language.

Comfortable working independently and making informed decisions under time pressure.

Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and clear written communication.

High ethical standards and integrity.

Fluency in Lithuanian and English, both written and spoken.

A degree in law, finance, business administration or a related field.

Advantage: familiarity with United Kingdom regulation and with international compliance standards and best practice.

Advantage: ICA or CAMS certification.

About Vinted

Vinted is Europe's largest second-hand fashion marketplace and one of the few consumer platforms at that scale run entirely from the Baltics. Engineering sits in Vilnius and Kaunas, with product and commercial teams in Amsterdam and Berlin — the Lithuanian sites are the core, not a satellite. The interesting work is marketplace scale: search and recommendations over a catalogue that turns over constantly, payments and trust across two dozen countries.
