Information about the position

We're hiring a Backend Engineer to join the Digital Growth Enablement team in the Member Lifecycle domain at Vinted. Our team focuses on how millions of people discover Vinted online. We build the backend systems, tracking infrastructure, and content tools that connect search engines and marketing campaigns to our marketplace.

In this role, you will own the backend of our marketing CMS, develop automated SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) tools to keep Vinted visible on traditional search engines and emerging AI platforms, and build the tracking systems that power our digital marketing campaigns. Every backend optimization you make directly increases Vinted's global reach and helps millions of new users discover our circular economy.

You’ll meet the people behind this role early in the process: Jurgita Mačiulaitienė who leads both - Digital growth enablement and Member Acquisition - engineering teams and will be your direct manager. Evelina Švedaitė, who will guide you through the hiring process.

In this position, you’ll

Work in a team to build features that make our members’ lives better

Develop backend solutions using technologies such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Memcached, and Elasticsearch - you don’t need prior experience with all of them

Contribute to backend systems that serve millions of users and support high-traffic workloads

Apply Agile and Lean principles in your work, participating in planning, retrospectives, and other team ceremonies

Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews

Work in a data-driven environment where changes are validated through experimentation and measurable outcomes

Contribute to technical discussions and solution design together with more senior engineers

Help improve existing systems and services to make them simpler, more maintainable, and more reliable

Build, test, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot backend services with support from your team

Use tools like Grafana and Kibana to help monitor service behaviour and investigate issues

Write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code

Collaborate with your team and adjacent partners to deliver features successfully

About you

You have professional experience (or a strong interest in learning) Ruby - which power our monolith and headless CMS

Service extraction experience (a strong plus): You have experience tech-leading or contributing to the extraction of specific domains or packages from a monolithic codebase into decoupled, standalone services

SEO/GEO interest (a plus): You understand web crawlability concepts, such as managing large-scale sitemaps, structuring metadata, optimizing server-side rendering, or tracking search-engine and AI bot traffic

You’re eager to learn and excited to grow your backend engineering skills

You enjoy improving things and proactively raising ideas when you see opportunities

You have solid software engineering fundamentals and experience building backend applications

You write clean, maintainable code and care about quality and testability

You’re comfortable working with databases, APIs, and service-based systems

You’re curious about distributed systems and architectural trade-offs, and you’re happy to learn from more senior engineers

The gross monthly salary range for this position is:

€4.975—€6.725 EUR
