Brief info about Vinted
Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:
Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.
Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.
Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.
Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people.
Information about the position
We're looking for a Lead iOS Engineer to join our Design Systems team. Our mission is to help product teams ship high-quality experiences faster by providing reusable UI solutions and the foundations that make them easy to build with at scale.
We own the shared UI components used across Vinted, but our scope goes well beyond building components. We invest heavily in the processes, tooling, and standards around them: ensuring our design system is AI-native, leading the SwiftUI migration, supporting modern UI patterns, pushing our components toward greater composability and flexibility, and improving how our design assets are maintained and shipped to customers.
On iOS, you'll have real ownership of the technical direction of our design system and help keep it aligned with where the platform is heading. You'll be hands-on — writing code, prototyping patterns, reviewing PRs, and shaping architecture through RFCs and ADRs — while making sure our foundations remain well-architected, well-tested, and easy for product teams to build on. You'll also help us make the design system work effectively with AI, from generating screens using our UI components to providing reliable, well-documented building blocks that AI tools can use correctly. As the senior technical voice for iOS within Design Systems, you'll represent the platform in the Frontend Platform Council, where domain leads align on shared standards.
In this position, you’ll
Be the go-to iOS engineer and technical decision-maker for the Design Systems domain
Own architecture and design decisions for our shared iOS component library and design-system tooling, balancing delivery speed with long-term platform health
Push our components toward greater composability and flexibility, so product teams can build a wider range of screens without forking or patching them
Help make our design system AI-ready — ensuring components, documentation, and patterns are structured so product teams can reliably generate screens with AI tooling
Improve the processes behind how design assets are maintained and shipped, from design handoff to release
Drive module boundaries, dependency direction, and API design for the packages that other iOS teams depend on
Improve engineering quality and developer productivity across the domain: CI/CD, testing strategy, build times, flaky test reduction, and reliable feedback loops
Apply modern Swift concurrency (async/await, structured concurrency, actors, data-race prevention) to keep the codebase safe and maintainable as it scales
Represent iOS in the Frontend Platform Council, helping create alignment and make decisions on shared platform standards across domains
Collaborate closely with Staff Engineers, EMs, PMs, Designers, and Android/Web engineers to keep the design system consistent and useful across platforms
Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through code reviews, RFCs/ADRs, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
About you
Strong hands-on experience with SwiftUI, UIKit and modernizing large scale apps.
Solid understanding of Swift concurrency, including async/await, structured concurrency, task cancellation, actors, and data-race prevention
Experience working on large-scale modular iOS applications, with strong judgment around module boundaries, dependency direction, ownership, and API design between modules
Experience building or scaling a design system / component library used by multiple teams
Ability to lead architecture and technical decision-making inside a product domain, balancing delivery speed, maintainability, and long-term platform health
Experience improving engineering quality and developer productivity, including CI/CD, testing strategy, build times, flaky test reduction, and reliable feedback loops
Ability to collaborate with Staff Engineers, EMs, PMs, Designers, Android/Web engineers, and Security teams on cross-functional technical initiatives
Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar through code reviews, RFCs/ADRs, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
You communicate clearly in spoken and written English

About Vinted
Vinted is Europe's largest second-hand fashion marketplace and one of the few consumer platforms at that scale run entirely from the Baltics. Engineering sits in Vilnius and Kaunas, with product and commercial teams in Amsterdam and Berlin — the Lithuanian sites are the core, not a satellite. The interesting work is marketplace scale: search and recommendations over a catalogue that turns over constantly, payments and trust across two dozen countries.
