At TOMRA, we value and encourage innovation, passion and responsibility in everything we do.

The TOMRA Group employs 5,000 people globally and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: TOM). TOMRA was named Norway’s Most Innovative Business in 2023 & 2025.

TOMRA Collection is a leading innovator in clean loop recycling and is responsible for over 91,000 installations across more than 60 markets. By providing an effective and efficient way of collecting, sorting and processing containers, TOMRA's reverse vending systems make it easy for consumers to recycle and contribute to a more sustainable planet.

We are entering an exciting period of growth as the UK prepares for Deposit Return Scheme to start on October 1st 2026. This is a rare opportunity to join a business that is scaling rapidly and help build the people, culture, and organisational foundations needed for long-term success.

We’re looking for a hands-on People leader who thrives in growth environments. Someone who loves building, creating structure, solving problems, and driving results. A leader who brings energy, pragmatism, and a get-things-done mindset.

As Head of People & Organisation UK, you will partner closely with the UK Managing Director and leadership team to drive our people strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. You will be a key architect of our culture, helping create an environment where people, teams, and the business can thrive.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a role focused on maintaining established ways of working.

This is a role for a builder.

In this role you will:

Play a key role in shaping the people, culture, and organisation as the business continues to grow.

Partner closely with leaders to navigate change, strengthen teams, and drive business performance.

Build the foundations, processes, and practices needed to support sustainable growth.

Balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, helping turn plans into action

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the UK Managing Director and leadership team to support business growth, organisational effectiveness, and workforce planning.

Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable people processes, policies, and ways of working that support a growing business.

Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders on people, culture, performance, organisational development, and employment matters.

Lead the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, development, and retention.

Champion a high-performing, values-led culture that enables people and teams to thrive while driving business success.

Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation while taking a pragmatic, hands-on approach across both strategic and operational people activities.

If you've thrived in a start-up, scale-up or greenfield environment and are looking for a new platform to make your mark, we'd love to hear from you.

What we are Looking For

We’re seeking someone who thrives in environments where there’s an opportunity to build, shape, and make a lasting impact. Having ideally worked in a start-up, scale-up, or greenfield setting, you understand the realities of growth and enjoy creating the structures, processes, and culture that help an organisation succeed as it evolves.

You will likely bring:

Experience building people processes, systems, and ways of working from the ground up.

Strong HR leadership experience across the employee lifecycle.

A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved wherever needed.

The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.

Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders.

The energy, resilience, and adaptability to succeed in a fast-moving business.

Key Requirements

Proven HR/P&O leadership experience within a growth, start-up, scale-up, or rapidly evolving business environment.

Strong HR generalist expertise across the full employee lifecycle.

Experience building processes, systems, and organisational capability from the ground up.

Ability to operate strategically while remaining highly hands-on and execution-focused.

Strong coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Comfortable working with ambiguity, change, and competing priorities.

Passion for creating high-performing cultures and developing engaged teams.
