Your future starts here

You’ll join a close-knit agile DevOps team based in Bern Worblaufen, where spending time together on site is part of how we collaborate. The team has developed and operated an inventory system for many years, and you’ll help to make it more reliable, scalable and easier to maintain. You’ll work across application development and operations, improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring and patch management. You’ll also help modernise the platform using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, while decoupling parts of the existing system to make deployments more flexible. As we explore a move from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, you’ll contribute to the technical direction of the platform.

Automate CI/CD pipelines, testing, infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching and dependency management to improve software delivery and operations.

Develop and operate cloud-native applications using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, and evaluate tools and architectural approaches for the evolving platform.

Plan and implement the transition from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, building the platform’s public cloud capabilities along the way.

Decouple and modernise the inventory system’s existing functional components to improve scalability, maintainability and deployment flexibility.

Keep the application stable and secure across environments by improving monitoring, incident handling, and operational automation with AI capabilities support.

Your skills

A degree in computer science (university, ETH or university of applied sciences), or equivalent professional experience.

Experience developing Java applications and working with Linux and scripting languages such as Bash. You’ve worked on evolving legacy systems towards a microservices architecture and have experience operating cloud-native services and databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

Strong command of version control, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins or GitHub Actions. You’re also familiar with dependency management, the software lifecycle and monitoring in a DevOps environment.

Hands-on experience with automation including practical uses of AI in operations and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, alongside networking concepts including firewalls, load balancing and reverse proxies.

You bring depth in your area of expertise, share and document what you know, and are willing to build skills beyond your main specialism.

You take ownership of complex problems, investigate root causes and balance modernisation goals with the realities of running a production system.

You contribute constructively to an agile team, support colleagues and stay open to new approaches.

You communicate technical topics clearly and work effectively with others in very good English and good German.

With us, you have the opportunity to work in one of our offices in Switzerland or in your home office. You will come into contact with agile working methods and the latest technologies.
