Would you like to develop tools and infrastructure for rolling stock control systems?

Our team develops and maintains a software ecosystem for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), where models serve as the central element and single source of truth for control and IT system architects. We extend the MagicDraw / Teamwork Cloud platform using custom plugins and automated tools – ranging from certified code generators and automated reporting to LLM integrations and local MCP servers.

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with strong Java skills, an interest in Kotlin, an eye for software architecture, and an appetite to leverage modern AI tools meaningfully.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implementation of plugins for the modeling environment (Eclipse-based) and standalone CLI tools for batch processing

Focus on software architecture, clean code, testability, and robustness of certified components

Effective use of AI assistance and MCP protocols with an emphasis on code quality and verifiability

Collaboration within an agile team with software architects, POs, and developers in an open atmosphere

Contribution to modernizing CI/CD pipelines and build automation (Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Artifactory)

Requirements:

Senior-level knowledge of Java (object-oriented design, architectural patterns, JVM platform)

Knowledge of Kotlin as a strong plus (newer tools, CLI applications, AI/MCP integrations)

Strong sense of software quality, maintainable code, and testing

Critical thinking and experience with AI assistants with the ability to thoroughly verify code

Communicative English

Extra advantage for this role is:

Openness to the Xtend language

Knowledge of build and CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Artifactory)

Experience with Apache POI / Velocity

Join us and enjoy following benefits:

A personal annual budget of CZK 34 000 or CZK 58 000 (depending on role seniority)

Up to 33 days of vacation for your rest and regeneration

Fully paid e-meal vouchers by the employer in the amount of CZK 129,50/day

Possibility of working from home (with contribution) for a better work-life balance

Flexible working hours (fixed part from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Opportunity to become a Siemens shareholder and get free shares

A wide range of educational and development programs with an emphasis on supporting expert development

Possibility of language courses at the workplace paid by the employer

An ergonomic workplace for your health and comfort

About Siemens

Siemens is the German industrial technology group — factory automation, rail, grid and building systems — and only the technical part of what it advertises is carried here: engineering, R&D, IT and cybersecurity roles, and the working-student, internship and thesis positions among them. Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Erlangen, Prague, Vienna. Siemens posts across every function it has and most of it is deliberately not on this board.
