ESG Manager/Senior Manager for Financial Institutions (Consulting & Audit)

At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.

In capital markets accounting advisory services at PwC, you will focus on providing strategic guidance on a broad range of technical accounting, financial reporting, transaction structures and capital markets topics. You will advise clients on complex accounting advisory and financial reporting issues around deals (both public and private) and other transformational business events that may impact an organisation’s value.

As a member of our Financial Services ESG team, you’ll help our clients balance competing economic, social and environmental goals with national and European regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing ?

As a Manager/Senior Manager you will be working on

Lead and deliver ESG-related engagements for Financial Services clients across sustainability reporting, ESG strategy, governance, sustainable finance, climate and ESG risk management

Lead ESG assurance engagements, including planning, execution and completion activities in accordance with PwC methodology and professional standards

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for sustainability, risk, finance and executive stakeholders

Manage engagement teams, project plans, budgets and resources to ensure high-quality delivery

Coach, develop and provide ongoing feedback to team members while promoting a collaborative team environment

Support clients in interpreting and responding to evolving European and local ESG regulatory requirements

Contribute to business development initiatives, proposals and market-facing activities

Collaborate with PwC teams across the global network on cross-border ESG and sustainability projects

What we are looking for:

University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field

More than 5 years of relevant working experience in the financial sector, in the area of audit (Big 4 is considered a plus), sustainability, consulting, strategy, risk management, compliance

Strong understanding of ESG, sustainability and climate-related topics, with knowledge of the banking regulatory environment considered an advantage

Experience managing projects and leading teams in a client-facing environment

Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong research, report writing and presentation capabilities

Excellent communication skills in both Romanian and English

Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues across diverse teams

Proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning
