Job Description & Summary

PwC Luxembourg is hiring a Senior Associate – Infrastructure & Private Markets Valuation & Modelling (m/f/d). What if it was you?

Your mission: A career in our Valuation & Modelling Services practice will provide you with the opportunity to work at the forefront of valuation, financial modelling, and investment analysis across private markets.

As part of the largest and most qualified dedicated valuation and modelling team in Luxembourg, you will advise leading alternative investment managers, institutional investors, infrastructure funds, private equity sponsors, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and multinational corporations on complex valuation and modelling matters throughout the investment lifecycle.

Recognised as a centre of excellence for portfolio valuation, our team delivers independent valuations and reviews of investment portfolios, businesses, complex securities, financial instruments, and intangible assets for financial and investor reporting, regulatory compliance, governance, and strategic decision-making.

Our team also works closely with PwC Luxembourg's market-leading Assurance practice, supporting a broad range of valuation matters across audit engagements. This provides our professionals with unique exposure to valuation challenges across multiple asset classes, investment structures, and industries, while helping maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and professional rigour.

Our professionals come from diverse backgrounds, including leading asset managers, infrastructure investors, private equity firms, valuation boutiques, advisory practices, and audit firms. Together, we combine deep technical expertise with practical investment experience to help clients navigate increasingly sophisticated valuation challenges across infrastructure, private equity, venture capital, private debt, real estate, and other alternative asset classes.

Our multidisciplinary experience allows us to engage confidently with investment professionals, valuation committees, risk teams, boards of directors, external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to deliver robust, independent, and insightful analyses that support informed decision-making.

Be a part of our team where you will:

Carry out various assignments for valuation and modelling across different industries and situations, including portfolio valuations, business valuations, intangible valuations, complex securities valuation, and ad hoc modelling engagements;

Prepare detailed financial modelling, business plans, financial analysis and the application of a variety of valuation methodologies;

Assess reasonableness of valuations and financial models prepared by others;

Assist clients with their understanding of complex financial structures;

Apply generally accepted valuation principles, methodologies, and techniques in support of IPEV, IFRS, US GAAP and Lux GAAP;

Perform valuation analyses of financial instruments, structured products, and complex capital structures;

Develop independent financial models using income, market, and option-based approaches;

Analyse complex situations and formulate practical, value-added recommendations;

Leverage multiple data sources and stakeholder perspectives to develop robust conclusions;

Use data and insights to support investment, governance, and reporting decisions;

Develop a point of view on key market developments and emerging valuation trends;

Manage multiple stakeholder perspectives and build consensus around complex issues;

Communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner;

Produce outstanding deliverables for clients across the private markets ecosystem;

Continuously develop new skills and deepen your valuation, modelling, and investment expertise.

Let's talk about you. If you...

Hold a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field;

Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent command of English — German and French are strong assets, and any other European language is considered valuable;

Have 2–5 years of professional experience in Valuation and Modelling, ideally gained within the valuation or modelling advisory team of a Big Four firm, a professional services firm (e.g., Mazars, BDO, Grant Thornton), or a specialist advisory firm (e.g., BHB Partners, Stout, VRC, Houlihan Lokey, Alvarez & Marsal, Accuracy, Eight Advisory);

Have exposure to private capital alternative investments (e.g., private equity, infrastructure, venture capital, private debt);

Experience in infrastructure and project finance valuation, financial modelling, transaction analysis, or investment appraisal would be highly valued;

Demonstrate strong financial modelling skills in Microsoft Excel — capable of building three-way models and adhering to best practices (e.g., avoiding hard-coded figures and inefficient formulas such as VLOOKUP, INDIRECT, or nested IFs);

Possess solid knowledge of financial statement analysis under IFRS, US GAAP, and/or Lux GAAP;

Have experience with option pricing models (e.g., Black-Scholes, Binomial Trees, Monte Carlo) and/or Purchase Price Allocations (considered valuable);

Can create high-quality deliverables using Microsoft PowerPoint;

Are progressing toward a professional finance or accounting qualification (e.g., CFA, CAIA, CPV, CVA, ASA, CBV, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CA, AFM, CFM, FMVA, FRM, CQF);

Are highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously;

Demonstrate a strong team attitude, a willingness to support others, share expertise, and contribute positively to a collaborative, high-performing culture;

Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a healthy level of professional skepticism;

Are proactive, intellectually curious, and committed to continuous learning;

Bring positive energy, humility, and a good sense of humor to the team.

About PwC

PwC is one of the Big Four, and its board here is the global Experienced Careers listing rather than a European one: most of what it carries is Cairo, Kuala Lumpur, Kolkata, Toronto and Manila, with Milan, Warsaw, Barcelona and London among the European entries. The technology work sits in the consulting and internal-technology arms rather than in a product org, so filter by role before judging the count.
