About the Role
We're seeking a People Process & Operations Manager to design, build, and scale the operational backbone of our rapidly growing People function. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you'll work closely with HR leaders, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure flawless execution across people operations, data integrity, and process excellence.
You'll own the end-to-end operational delivery of people programs—from employee onboarding and offboarding to compensation administration, benefits management, and HR systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, loves building systems from first principles, and takes pride in creating clarity and efficiency where complexity exists.
What You’ll be Doing
People Operations & Administration
Own and evolve our employee lifecycle management: onboarding, offboarding, role changes, and transfers across multiple locations
Manage benefits administration, and payroll data delivery coordination ensuring accuracy and compliance across regions (across EMEA, APAC and AMER)
Maintain employee records and documentation with meticulous attention to detail and data security
Process personnel actions swiftly and accurately, serving as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers
Data Management & Reporting
Build and maintain the Workday as a single source of truth for people data
Conduct regular data audits to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across systems
Reconcile Workday against external data sources
Prepare insights for the business for leadership, boards, and external stakeholders
Process Design & Continuous Improvement
Design, document, and continuously improve People processes and workflows (e.g., leave management)
Identify process bottlenecks and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual work
Establish standardized templates, standard operating procedures, and best practices across the People function
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure People processes align with business requirements
Build scalable infrastructure for processes that will support rapid growth
Systems & Technology
Manage and optimize Workday, ensuring system configurations support evolving business needs
Oversee Workday system integrations (payroll, finance, benefits and more)
Implement and manage process automation tools where appropriate (e.g., automated workflows, AI agents)
Support data migration projects and system implementations with accuracy and care
Compliance & Governance
Ensure People processes comply with employment law and regulations across all geographies where we operate
Maintain up-to-date employment contracts, policy documentation, and regulatory filings
Support external audits and compliance reviews with thorough, well-organized documentation
Strategic Partnerships
Act as a trusted operational partner to People Team leadership
Support the People team in designing and rolling out new programs
About You
Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in People Operations, HRIS management, or HR administration, ideally in fast-growing tech or scale-up environments
Deep familiarity with HRIS platforms (Workday experience is a plus)—hands-on configuration, implementation and data management experience preferred
Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation capabilities
Advanced proficiency in data manipulation (data analysis, pivot tables, dashboards) and comfortable with data-driven decision-making
Practical knowledge of multi-jurisdictional employment law and compliance (US, UK, EU preferred)
Experience designing and optimizing People workflows and processes at scale
Strong communication skills: able to explain complex HR concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Mindset & Qualities
Self-starter with a bias toward ownership, pragmatism, and shipping useful solutions
Comfortable in ambiguous, early-stage environments where you'll help define standards and best practices
Proactive problem-solver who spots issues early and escalates appropriately
High bar for accuracy and process integrity—you take pride in clean, auditable records
Energized by building scalable systems and processes that multiply team impact
Collaborative and capable of influencing across functions without authority
Curious about HR technology and best practices; committed to continuous learning

About Nscale
Nscale builds GPU cloud infrastructure for AI training and inference — a newer entrant in the same space as Nebius, also on this list. Roles split between London and Norway, where the data centres themselves likely sit, spanning software, finance, ML and legal rather than pure infrastructure engineering.
