Solution Engineering Manager

Overview

The Cloud & AI Platform Solution Engineering Manager leads a high-performing team of Solution Engineers responsible for helping enterprise customers accelerate their digital and AI transformation using Microsoft Cloud technologies.

In this role, you will build and develop technical talent, drive technical sales excellence, and lead customer engagements that unlock business outcomes through Azure, Data & AI, Analytics, Application Innovation, and emerging AI capabilities. You will work closely with sales, customer success, services, engineering, and partner teams to create customer value and drive Microsoft growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with people leadership, coaching, and executive engagement skills. They are passionate about developing talent, enabling innovation, and helping customers realize the full value of Microsoft's Cloud & AI platform.

Responsibilities

People Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Cloud & AI Platform Solution Engineers.

Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, inclusion, and technical excellence.

Recruit, develop, and retain top technical talent.

Technical Sales Leadership

Drive technical sales strategy and execution across strategic customer engagements.

Coach teams on solution positioning, competitive differentiation, and customer-centric storytelling.

Ensure high-quality technical engagements throughout the customer lifecycle.

Remove blockers and help teams navigate complex business and technical challenges.

Customer & Business Impact

Engage directly with customer executives, architects, and technical decision makers.

Help customers develop cloud, data, and AI strategies aligned to business outcomes.

Support large-scale transformations, migrations, modernizations, and AI initiatives.

Influence technical decision making and accelerate adoption of Microsoft Cloud solutions.

Technical Excellence

Build deep capability across Azure Infrastructure, Data & AI, Analytics, Application Innovation, and AI Platform solutions.

Drive readiness and adoption of emerging Microsoft technologies, including Copilot and AI workloads.

Promote technical best practices and solution quality.

Leverage customer insights to influence strategy and improve execution.

Collaboration & Orchestration

Partner closely with ATU, CSU, Services, Engineering, and EPS.

Drive alignment across stakeholders to deliver business and technical outcomes.

Strengthen collaboration across the broader Cloud & AI organization.

Demonstrated experience leading technical customer-facing teams.

Strong people leadership and coaching capabilities.

Experience with cloud technologies, enterprise architectures, or digital transformation.

Ability to engage and influence senior technical and business stakeholders.

Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

Experience leading technical sales or pre-sales organizations.
