Senior Software Engineer for Libraries - Rust focus · Software Engineering

Overview

Come build the foundations that power large-scale services. In this role, you will join a team focused on designing and delivering agentic tools and high‑quality libraries that enable service teams across M365 to move faster, operate more safely, and evolve their platforms with confidence. Your work will be used by engineers building and running globally distributed services, amplifying your impact well beyond a single product.

You will collaborate closely with service owners, platform teams, and other library engineers to translate real-world service needs into robust and ergonomic tools and SDKs that enable fast progress for teams looking to benefit from the Rust programming language. Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and long-term evolution of agentic tools, libraries and SDKs used by large-scale, production services.

Apply systems programming principles - safety, performance, reliability - with a strong focus on Rust and fit-for-purpose abstractions.

Drive API design with attention to developer ergonomics, compatibility, versioning strategy, and adoption across multiple teams.

Identify effective patterns for agentic development with focus on achieving efficiency gains in existing systems using the Rust programming language.

Partner with service teams to translate requirements into shared components; influence integration patterns and reduce friction for adoption.

Establish or raise engineering quality bars through testing strategies, documentation, sample usage, CI validation, and release practices.

Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching; contribute to improving the team’s engineering foundation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field

Proven software engineering experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Rust or similar.

Relevant professional experience in software development and engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience delivering production-quality software and leading implementation across feature areas.

Experience designing, building, or maintaining shared libraries/frameworks/SDKs with attention to API contracts, testing, and lifecycle management.

Demonstrated technical leadership (e.g., driving design reviews, guiding architecture decisions, improving engineering practices).

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Czechia is Kč 1,338,000.00 - Kč 2,448,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
