Critical Environment Technician (CET) – Electrical Technician

Help operate the infrastructure behind Microsoft's cloud

We are looking for electrical professionals to join Microsoft's datacenter operations team as Critical Environment Technicians (CET).

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) organization is responsible for the critical infrastructure powering Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft's global cloud services. Datacenters are highly technical facilities where electrical, mechanical, cooling, automation, and backup power systems must operate safely and continuously 24/7.

As a CET, you will support the daily operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure systems. You will receive comprehensive training and work within well-defined operational, safety, and maintenance processes.

Sähköverkon ja kriittisten järjestelmien operointi

Datakeskuksen laitteiden, tilojen ja infrastruktuurin tarkastukset ja kierrokset

Poikkeamien tunnistaminen sekä toiminta häiriö- ja vikatilanteissa

Ennakoiva, suunniteltu ja korjaava kunnossapito

Tekninen vianetsintä yhdessä tiimin kanssa

Työmääräinten ja kunnossapitotietojen dokumentointi CMMS-järjestelmässä

Urakoitsijoiden työn valvonta sekä turvallinen yhteensovittaminen

SOP-, MOP- ja EOP-menettelyjen noudattaminen ja kehittäminen

Yhteistyö muiden teknisten tiimien ja sidosryhmien kanssa

Key Responsibilities

Operate critical electrical and facility systems

Perform inspections, monitoring rounds, and equipment checks

Identify abnormal conditions and respond according to established procedures

Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities

Participate in troubleshooting and fault investigation

Document maintenance activities within CMMS systems

Coordinate and oversee contractor activities

Follow and help improve SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs

Collaborate with operational teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Electrical trade qualification or equivalent technical education

Experience in electrical distribution, substations, industrial maintenance, utilities, or facility operations

Commitment to safety

Ability to follow procedures and documentation requirements

Learning mindset and willingness to develop new technical skills

Ability to communicate in English language

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Medium-voltage experience

SCADA, BMS, or industrial automation experience

Experience in critical environments, power generation, utilities, or industrial facilities

Critical Environment Ops ATR-B - The typical base pay range for this role across Finland is € 41,600.00 - € 53,800.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
