Your Opportunity:

Join a highly collaborative and product-focused engineering team that’s redefining how quality assurance integrates with software development. At Leapsome, QA is not a separate silo - it’s an integral part of the engineering process. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer/Software Development Engineer in Test, you will work closely with developers, product managers, customer success and designers to ensure every feature delivers exceptional quality and user satisfaction.

This role combines hands-on testing, automation, and innovative problem-solving. You’ll have the opportunity to drive automation efforts with tools like Playwright, screen and refine incoming tasks, and support scheduled release processes with manual testing where needed. Beyond this, you’ll play a key role in holding the engineering team to our quality standards, championing best practices, and exploring innovative approaches, such as leveraging AI in testing.

You will:

Drive the design and implementation of automation frameworks using tools like Playwright, ensuring scalable, reliable, and maintainable test coverage

Collaborate closely with engineers during the development lifecycle to identify edge cases and potential pitfalls early

Screen and refine incoming tasks, ensuring clear requirements and testability before development begins

Conduct exploratory testing for complex workflows and manual testing during scheduled release cycles to ensure seamless launches

Challenge engineers to uphold high-quality standards in code, functionality, and user experience, contributing to a culture of engineering excellence

Experiment with AI-driven testing approaches, identifying opportunities to enhance the speed and depth of QA processes

Monitor production systems and implement automated checks to maintain platform reliability and detect regressions proactively

Contribute to cross-functional projects, offering insights into testing strategies for smarter platform initiatives or AI-powered features

Document QA strategies and findings, fostering a learning environment and helping scale QA knowledge across the team

What is the Technology Stack?

Core Technologies: TypeScript, Node.js, Vue.js, and MongoDB for building scalable, maintainable, and high-performing applications

Automation Frameworks: Playwright, Vitest, and Mocha/Chai for comprehensive automated testing

Infrastructure: Docker, Github Actions and AWS for scalable CI/CD pipelines and production systems

Collaboration: GitHub, Notion, and async communication tools to work transparently with the engineering team

Analytics: Mixpanel, Sentry, and Datadog to track feature performance and identify issues

AI/LLMs: Leveraging modern AI technologies with LangGraph, multi-agent architectures, RAG-based knowledge retrieval, and evaluation workflows using Evals for continuous improvement and smarter automation

You’ll be a good fit if you:

Share our belief that QA is a core part of engineering, not a separate process, and are passionate about ensuring quality across the entire product lifecycle

Have 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, with a strong focus on automation

Are proficient in TypeScript and familiar with Page Object Model patterns

Are proficient with automation tools like Playwright or Cypress and have experience designing reusable frameworks

Have experience with Vue.js or similar modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular)

Understand API and integration testing and have experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

Familiar with testing AI/ML features that produce non-deterministic outputs

Thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities shift, and enjoy collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers

Are skilled in exploratory and manual testing, with an eye for spotting edge cases and understanding complex workflows

Are excited by the opportunity to experiment with AI/LLMs to redefine traditional QA approaches

Value pragmatic excellence, balancing speed with a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality features

Enjoy mentoring teammates and fostering a collaborative environment where quality is a shared responsibility
