Software Engineer II, Google Search, Mobile Android

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Contribute to the development of front-end experiences for the Android Search App by collaborating with cross-functional partners (PM, UX) on team projects.

Implement features, writing high-quality, testable code with guidance and support from senior team members.

Test assigned features across various environments (teamfood, dogfood, production) and assist in triaging product or system issues.

Manage assigned work to meet deadlines, proactively communicating progress and escalating technical challenges.

Leverage AI development tools to optimize daily workflows.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

1 year of experience with Android application development.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with Kotlin, Integration Testing, Experiment Design, Cross-Functional Collaboration.

User-facing product development experience.

Android/mobile experience preferred.
