About the role

To ensure that reactive and pre-emptive IT support actions are carried out competently, professionally and in a timely manner following the direction of the Group IT Manager.

This role requires a proactive approach, and the job holder is required to be sufficiently self-motivated to operate at level where they can, when appropriate, instigate solutions without needing direction, to provide continuity of service.

Responsible for the proactive monitoring, maintenance and support/escalation of the incoming IT support requests either by email, phone or internal ticketing system.

Champion and drive the vision and lead people through ambiguity and uncertainty

Demonstrate openness and trust and command respect and value the opinions of others

Take full accountability for their actions and those of their team, valuing each individual contribution

Create a strong sense of belonging and pride in the team, partnering effectively with others

To liaise with site-based IT contacts, including training and advising where necessary to ensure sites are fully informed and consistent.

To develop support documentation where required to improvement the user experience.

To develop their skillsets in-house with a clear progression expectation to higher levels of expertise.

About You

Essential Experience:

Degree level or equivalent reflecting interest and competency in IT

Previous experience in an IT Support / network functionality and support

Good communication skills including fluent written and spoken English.

Be able to demonstrate an existing interest in computers and networking.

A sound general knowledge of computer systems and software.

Good time management skills are required, as the jobholder will have some responsibility for their own time management and need to meet deadlines

Self-motivation, self-organisation.

Ability to network and use diplomacy to work through the matrix organisation and provide an excellent level of customer care.
