About this opportunity:

Spatial data is expected to support important future telecom capabilities, including ISAC. While the opportunities to create value from spatial data are not yet fully understood, ethical and security considerations also need attention. If these issues are not addressed, they could affect the potential to develop and commercialise new services.

In this thesis, you will explore how ethical and security considerations related to spatial data may affect value-creation opportunities for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and other telecom actors.

What you will do:

Identify where ethical concerns may arise in the use of spatial data and examine the issues and their causes.

Assess how ethical and security considerations could affect value creation and monetisation opportunities.

Explore practical ways to address ethical barriers and challenges.

Depending on the chosen direction, develop either a report with analysis and recommendations or a case study of how a specific company addresses spatial-data ethics.

The project offers scope to investigate an emerging topic at the intersection of telecommunications, data ethics, and security.
