About this opportunity

Ericsson’s Early Career Program is an 18-month journey for recent graduates and professionals with up to five years of relevant experience. Through three rotations, including an international placement and market exposure, you will work on meaningful challenges, contribute new ideas, and develop your professional network.

The Excellerate track develops future leaders motivated by performance, pace, and commercial impact. Rotations across areas such as Sales, Commercial Management, Strategy, Supply, and Finance will help you understand how different parts of the business create value.

Position summary

As a Data Scientist, you will apply data science, artificial intelligence, and MLOps practices to evolve Ericsson’s Intelligent Mobile Core and improve the performance and efficiency of future mobile networks on the path towards 6G.

You will work on packet core traffic, network analytics and optimization, data lake initiatives, and AI-driven tools that improve software development workflows, including test prioritization, regression detection, log analysis, code review, and CI/CD feedback.

What you will do

Develop and evaluate machine learning and statistical models for traffic classification, network analytics, and optimization.

Analyse network, system, application, log, and telemetry data to identify patterns and improvement opportunities.

Build data preparation, feature engineering, experimentation, evaluation, and visualization workflows.

Apply MLOps practices for model versioning, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Contribute to data lake and data product initiatives.

Translate technical questions into data requirements, success criteria, recommendations, and documented solutions.

Collaborate with software engineering, data engineering, architecture, technology, and international teams.

What you bring

A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent practical experience, in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Strong Python skills, including pandas and NumPy.

Familiarity with data pipelines, distributed processing tools such as Spark or Airflow, and efficient data formats such as Parquet or Arrow.

Foundational knowledge of machine learning, statistics, feature engineering, model evaluation, cross-validation, class imbalance, and MLOps.

Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow and architectures including CNNs, RNNs, or Transformers.

Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and reproducible development environments.

Practical experience gained through academic projects, internships, research, or professional work.

Curiosity, ownership, structured problem-solving, clear English communication, and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred experience

Experience with MLOps, ML pipelines, model monitoring, data lakes, large-scale telemetry, telecommunications, 4G/5G Core, anomaly detection, time-series analysis, generative AI, Git, CI/CD, containers, or infrastructure automation.

Why Ericsson?

You will work with advanced technologies, learn from experienced colleagues, and help make networks smarter, more efficient, and ready for what comes next.

Main improvements: Reduced repetition, consolidated overlapping technical requirements, shortened long sentences, and retained the role’s core scope, qualifications, and employer proposition.
