About this opportunity:

Join us for a Master’s thesis on multipath routing in computer networks. You will investigate how different routing algorithms perform when measured by cost, delay, capacity and fault probability. You will also explore a new way to compare algorithms across all these properties and assess whether the results remain consistent across different networks and settings.

What you will do:

You will study and implement selected multipath routing algorithms and test them on generated or publicly available network topologies. Using a programming language such as Python, R, Java or C++, you will compare the algorithms through simulations, tables and visualizations. You will analyze the results, investigate quality measures, and document your methodology, implementation and findings in a thesis report.

The skills you bring:

Background in computer science, mathematics, engineering or a similar STEM field.

Knowledge of algorithms, complexity and graph theory

Programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, R, Java, Julia or C/C++

Familiarity with array-programming libraries such as NumPy and graph-analysis tools such as NetworkX or igraph is beneficial

Structured problem-solving approach
