Order to Cash (O2C), within Finance and FinTech, manages the financial lifecycle with accommodation partners—from invoicing and payouts to receivables collection, cash allocation and revenue operations. Global Finance Analytics provides horizontal analytics and data science support across O2C, helping teams improve partner outcomes, operational effectiveness and financial performance.
Senior Project Managers possess a strong project management background. They have excellent communication skills, with demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, They have solid experience assessing business needs, developing the implementation strategy and leading end-to-end activities for their respective projects
The role is responsible to work with the various teams within Finance, FinTech, the Accommodations Business Unit (ABU) and other business units to support and proactively facilitate the work occurring between them and centralized functions. They are responsible for the success of the projects they lead, including but not limited to: requirements gathering and needs analyses, getting buy-in for concepts from senior-level stakeholders, end to end plan, risks and dependencies identification and management, presentations of findings & requests for support, leading the project team, administration of the project documents & supporting meetings, as well as constant alignment of their initiatives to the goals of Booking, the Finance department, and the teams they work with. They are challenged to learn & adapt to new tools & technologies as a part of being a champion of change. This role supports the high velocity of change and enables an agile development environment where releases are frequency & impact many layers of the organization
This role will also get involved in running a strategy workstream from problem definition to delivering a solution including the implementation strategy or execute change management initiatives and communications plans.
As a secondary but important part of the mandate, the role carries portfolio management responsibilities for O2C (Order to Cash) team: supporting the Program Management function to build and run a Program & Portfolio Management structure that is in line with the rest of the organization, and ensuring the team's projects are managed and organized in a consistent manner. The team in scope may vary over time.
Key Responsibilities
Craft Methodology and Standards:
Apply structured methodology to and lead project/change management activities.
E2E Project Management of Strategic Initiatives
Lead independently End-to-end (E2E) high complexity strategic initiatives for Finance from scoping to execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation. Drive large business critical projects that bring significant value to the business.
Project Initiation and Planning:
Drives the project scoping and planning working with different teams and creating associated documentation.
Brings clarity to sponsor, teams and stakeholders by defining and documenting program objectives, requirements and success criteria, KPIs, roadmap/E2E planning, risk and dependencies, cost estimates and in general program deliverables.
Project Implementation and Completion
Drive project (s) plan execution, ensuring project objectives are met on agreed timelines.
Track and report progress.
Ensure a project closing and correct handover to Business as usual.
Project Governance
Design and implement project governance and delivery structure to ensure efficient delivery, communication and decision making
Maintain project management frameworks & templates and follow up if needed with any improvement feedback.
Delivery/Impact
Drive the progress and successful delivery of initiatives that bring significant value to the business. They are the driving force that collaborates with multiple teams to ensure that teams deliver significant change to the business covering the full scope, on agreed timelines and budget (where applicable).
Stakeholder Management
Primary point of contact for the Project(s) related queries. Maintain high-level of engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, facilitation & setup of virtual meetings & classroom settings, as well as individual in-person meetings Ability to work and productively interact with different stakeholders up to Director level.
Portfolio Management
Support the Program Management function to build the Program & Portfolio Management structure for the team to be in line with the rest of the organization.
Connect the dots across the team's projects to identify synergies, dependencies and risks, and elevate them where appropriate.
Maintain a clear reporting structure to the stakeholders on portfolio level.
Success Metrics
Define and measure the success metrics of the Project(s)/Workstreams in scope.
Facilitator
Lead independently workshops to support the delivery of the Project(s).
Years of relevant Job Knowledge : 5-8 years
Requirements of Special Knowledge/Skills
Strong Project Management Experience. Preferably having a background in Agile Project Management
PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred.
Experience with Jira & Confluence is preferred.
With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making
Familiar with change management approaches; good understanding of the change curve and process
Communication of the project insights and recommendations across all stakeholders
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders. Ability to work effectively and influence up to Senior Managers and DIrector Level
Highly organized and structured and make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner.
Be able to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project teams to achieve organizational goals. They also should be able to influence and steer senior management and groups. Challenge assumptions and ability to adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas
Flexibility and the ability to function well within ambiguity and in a constantly changing environment.
Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision. They are able to break up a complex problem into actionable and easy to understand solutions. They are hands on and drive solutions to problems in partnership with the involved parties.
Sr Project Managers make sure the project's outcomes are in line with customer needs and/or expectations
