Account Executive, Strategic Expansion Accounts – France

Position Overview

The Account Executive is responsible for driving growth across a portfolio of strategic Design & Manufacturing (D&M) customers in France. Most of these organizations are existing Autodesk customers with significant whitespace and expansion potential.

This is a quota-carrying sales role focused on identifying and developing new business opportunities within existing strategic accounts. The Account Executive will build and execute account strategies that expand Autodesk’s footprint, increase adoption and consumption, and establish long-term executive relationships with customers.

Success requires the ability to think strategically while executing with discipline: understanding each customer’s business priorities and transformation agenda, identifying where Autodesk can create additional value, prioritizing the highest-impact opportunities, and orchestrating Autodesk specialists, partners, and customer stakeholders to convert those opportunities into measurable business growth.

The role offers significant autonomy and ownership and is suited to an experienced enterprise seller who enjoys uncovering whitespace, navigating complex organizations, and developing strategic customers over the long term.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Growth: Attain or exceed annual quota and budget expectations by developing expansion opportunities across the assigned portfolio of strategic D&M accounts.

Develop Strategic Account Plans: Build and execute comprehensive account plans that identify customer priorities, whitespace, key stakeholders, competitive dynamics, and short- and long-term growth opportunities.

Identify Whitespace: Proactively uncover new use cases, business units, workflows, and transformation initiatives where Autodesk can expand its footprint and deliver additional customer value.

Build Executive Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with senior business, technology, engineering, and executive stakeholders, connecting Autodesk capabilities to customers’ strategic priorities.

Create and Manage Pipeline: Build and maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline with appropriate coverage, clear opportunity strategies, and disciplined forecasting.

Drive Complex Sales Cycles: Lead multi-stakeholder opportunities from discovery through value articulation, commercial negotiation, and closure.

Drive Adoption and Consumption: Work with customers and Autodesk teams to increase adoption, usage, and business value realization, creating the foundation for sustainable expansion.

Orchestrate the Account Team: Coordinate Autodesk technical specialists, customer success teams, industry experts, partners, and other internal stakeholders around a common account strategy.

Leverage the Partner Ecosystem: Work effectively with Autodesk partners to identify opportunities, extend customer reach, and execute joint strategies.

Maintain Sales Discipline: Provide accurate forecasting and maintain high-quality opportunity and account information in Salesforce, using data and insights to prioritize resources and actions.

Collaborate Across Functions: Operate effectively across a matrixed organization, mobilizing the right resources around the highest-value customer opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

Significant experience in enterprise or strategic B2B sales, preferably within technology, SaaS, software, or another complex solution-selling environment.

Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing strategic customer relationships.

Proven ability to identify and develop whitespace and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

Experience managing a portfolio of strategic customers and prioritizing resources and opportunities across multiple accounts.

Strong experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including large expansion opportunities.

Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and engage effectively with C-level and senior customer stakeholders.

Experience developing and executing strategic account plans.

Experience working with partners/channel organizations as part of complex customer engagements.

Strong pipeline management, forecasting, and Salesforce discipline.

Ability to operate independently while effectively orchestrating cross-functional teams.

Fluent French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing a significant revenue portfolio; experience with portfolios in the €5M+ range is particularly relevant.

Demonstrated success expanding technology adoption across multiple business units, functions, or use cases within large organizations.

Experience selling transformation-oriented solutions rather than individual point products.

Knowledge of the Design & Manufacturing industry, including the business and technology challenges facing industrial and manufacturing organizations.

Experience with Autodesk solutions or comparable enterprise design, engineering, manufacturing, cloud, or SaaS technologies.

Strong business acumen and ability to connect technology investments with measurable customer outcomes.

Experience working in a matrixed, multinational sales organization.

What Success Looks Like

Successful Account Executives in this role combine strategic thinking with strong execution. They consistently deliver against quota while building a sustainable pipeline of future opportunities.

They understand their customers beyond the immediate sales opportunity, develop clear points of view on where additional value can be created, and continuously identify whitespace across their portfolio. They build strong executive relationships, mobilize internal and partner resources effectively, and are comfortable taking ownership of complex opportunities from strategy through execution.

They are naturally motivated by finding new opportunities within established customers, thinking big, winning complex deals, and helping customers transform how they design and make things.

Why Join This Team

You will work with a high-quality portfolio of strategic French customers with meaningful potential for further growth and transformation. The role provides substantial ownership over customer strategy and the opportunity to influence how leading organizations expand their use of Autodesk.

You will join a dynamic team and work across Autodesk’s broader ecosystem of sales, technical, customer success, industry, and partner resources. The position also provides strong exposure to strategic customers and opportunities for continued career development within Autodesk.

The environment is ambitious: targets are demanding and customers are complex. Success requires persistence, disciplined execution, collaboration, and the ability to remain optimistic and focused when navigating long and sophisticated sales cycles.
