About the Role

Join ARX Robotics Ukraine in Kyiv as a Senior C++ Developer and build software for autonomous ground systems that support defence teams. Your work will connect onboard software with the interfaces operators use, helping our robots perform reliably in the lab and in the field.

If you enjoy working across software and hardware, investigating problems hands-on and adapting as prototypes evolve, you’ll find plenty to take on.

*Deep ROS 2 experience is not required - the team will support you as you learn.

What You'll Build

Develop modern C++ components, taking robotic systems from early prototypes to production-ready software.

Build Qt/QML operator applications for telemetry, video streams and robot control.

Integrate and extend ROS 2 nodes and communications between onboard and ground software.

Test software through unit, integration and end-to-end testing, in simulation and on real hardware.

Support field trials, investigate failures and turn findings into reliability improvements.

Maintain build, test and deployment workflows using CMake, Docker, Python and CI.

Document architecture decisions, configurations and test results so colleagues and partners can work with the systems you build

What You Bring

3+ years of professional C++ development, with a solid grasp of C++17/20

Practical concurrency skills, including synchronization, thread pools, lock-free approaches and diagnosing race conditions.

Confidence investigating software issues with gdb, sanitizers, Valgrind or similar tools.

Hands-on experience building desktop interfaces with Qt5/Qt6 and QML.

Strong Linux skills, including system administration, scripting and troubleshooting.

Python experience for automation and testing, plus Docker for reproducible builds and deployment.

Experience with automated testing frameworks such as GoogleTest or pytest.

Upper-intermediate English for technical documentation and collaboration.

Nice to have:

Experience with ROS 2, Zenoh or other robotics middleware, UAVs or autonomous vehicles, or embedded Linux platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson.

Camera and video integration with RTSP or GStreamer; ELRS or MAVLink; networking and VPN configuration; or ground control applications such as QGroundControl or Mission Planner.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.

What We Offer

Competitive salary and benefits package

Opportunity to work with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team

Room for professional growth and development

Participation in the company's success, with access to regular events, knowledge exchange and meetups
