Senior Software Engineer - AI Compiler New

Job Description:

Arm's Central Technology Machine Learning Group is looking for highly motivated and creative software engineers to join the ML compiler development team!

You would join our diverse and dedicated team shaping the future of AI on Arm's platforms. We work on all aspects of ML graph compilation - model ingestion, low-level hardware programming, efficient memory allocation and performance optimisation.

Responsibilities:

You will contribute to the design and implementation of an AI/ML compiler and ensure that it integrates well with rest of our ML software stack.

We are looking for an engineer who has a desire to build knowledge, learn new skills, can adapt to a constantly evolving environment and who enjoys complex problem solving. Given the impact and reach of this technology, you’ll have an opportunity to collaborate with specialists across the company.

Required Skills and Experience :

Experience with the whole software lifecycle - taking complex software from initial design through to production and support

Strong programming expertise in C++ and Python

Compiler knowledge, ideally experience with ML compilation technologies such as MLIR or TVM

Understanding of how to rigorously test software and design software for test

Ability to effectively use AI tools when working on a shared codebase

Capable of working independently or in small groups, with a high degree of initiative

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Good communication skills and collaborative mindset

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

Experience using software simulators and/or FPGAs

Exposure to any of the following: driver development, inference engines like llama.cpp or vLLM, performance analysis of ML and GenAI workloads, knowledge of Neural Network Processing Units (NPU) or Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and how they are used for ML.
