The Cloud Solutions team in Sophia Antipolis is looking for a highly motivated software engineering intern to join one of the most attractive technology hubs in France. Situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains, at the heart of Europe’s largest and most vibrant technology park. Our site has a long history of delivering extraordinary designs from Arm’s Cortex™ processor family, and you will be part of this innovative environment!
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of firmware projects within the Cloud Software team, gaining hands-on experience across different areas of embedded software throughout the internship.
Linux device driver integration (Power Management, telemetry, PCIe, etc.)
Firmware integration (Power Management, Trusted Firmware, bootloaders)
What you could be doing as a Software Engineer Intern
Participate in different aspects of open-source software development, from product design and implementation to testing and support.
Work on solutions that build on existing knowledge and skills while providing opportunities to learn and develop new ones.
Seek opportunities for enhancement/automation, and trial new tools.
We are looking for individuals who:
Are currently in the final year of a Master’s or Engineering degree, or pursuing a PhD, and are looking for a 6-month final-year internship as part of their studies. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience.
Possess excellent C skills.
Knowledge of C++ or Rust is welcome!
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
Knowledge of Arm architectures and experience in embedded software development.
Deep knowledge of software design patterns, algorithms and data structures.
Good interpersonal skills with an analytical approach.
Curiosity about technology outside of the classroom – personal projects, hackathons, or internships etc.
Additional Information:
We encourage early applications as we review them on a first come/first served basis.
Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree.
The internship duration is 6 months, starting in 2027.
French Law requires students to complete an internship agreement (Convention de Stage). This is a tripartite agreement signed by the student, their home university and host organization, that facilitates an internship in France. It is the contract defining all the essential points of the internship: duration, missions, remuneration and benefits, insurance in the event of an accident, etc.
It is preferable that Arm's own template of the agreement is used. Successful applicants will be required to provide contact details of the appropriate university representatives in order to have the agreement signed.
Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the country where the internship is based, without relying on sponsorship by Arm, for the full duration of the internship
In Return:
Working on interesting new projects with leaders in the field is exciting, but we also know how important it is to receive support. That's why throughout your internship, you can expect regular feedback and development opportunities, social activities to connect with your peers, an end of internship celebration, plus the opportunity to be *considered for future Graduate positions (*subject to performance). #getreadytogrow
In addition to a competitive salary of €27,000 per annum, our on-the-job learning and mentoring/buddy schemes provide unparalleled learning and networking opportunities from the best in the industry.

About Arm
Arm designs the processor architecture most of the world's phones and a growing share of its servers run on, and licenses it rather than manufacturing chips itself. Its European engineering is heavily Cambridge — the head office and much the largest cluster here — with smaller teams in Sophia Antipolis, Budapest and Manchester, and the work skews to systems software, ML and embedded rather than application development. Roughly two thirds of its openings are outside Europe, so filter by country before assuming a role is local.
