Fire Protection Design Engineer, Data Center Engineering

Amazon Web Services is seeking an Fire Protection Design Engineer to become part of a global engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center foot print.

Key job responsibilities

- Design and oversee comprehensive fire protection systems for data centers worldwide

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement fire safety solutions

- Review and ensure compliance with international fire protection standards

- Provide technical guidance on fire protection engineering matters

- Support continuous improvement of design standards and methodologies

You'll engage with architects, engineers, and global teams to develop innovative fire safety strategies, conduct detailed analyses, and create comprehensive protection solutions that push the boundaries of technological safety.

About the team

Our Data Center Design Engineering team brings together diverse perspectives from multiple engineering disciplines. We nurture an inclusive environment where collaboration and innovation thrive. Together, we're committed to developing sustainable, secure, and efficient data centers that support global technology infrastructure.

- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities

- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities

- Experience in fire protection design engineering or construction

- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

- Licensed Fire Protection Engineer certification

- Experience with performance-based fire protection design
