AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

We are hiring Installation Technicians (entry level) for our data center campuses in Spain. No previous data center, IT, telecommunications, or electrical experience is required. We can train you completely from day one.

As an Installation Technician, your job is to install the fiber optic and copper cables that connect new server racks to the network.

This is an entry level position within our World Based Learning Program (WBLP). That means you join as a learner and, over 12 months, develop into a fully autonomous technician. During that year you receive structured training, work alongside experienced colleagues, and gradually take on more responsibility.

Candidates with technical studies or vocational training (electrician, telecommunications, electronics, or similar) will find their background helpful, but it is not a requirement. What is essential is manual dexterity, attention to detail, physical fitness for the demands of the role, and the ability to follow structured technical procedures consistently. English is required, as it will be used to follow internal tools, documentation, and technical procedures.

Key job responsibilities

Physical Requirements:

This is a physically demanding role performed entirely on-site in a data center environment. Candidates must be able to:

- Climb ladders and work at heights up to 2 meters regularly

- Lift and carry cable spools and equipment weighing up to 15 kg

- Work overhead with arms raised for extended periods (cable routing)

- Work in a temperature-controlled environment (15 to 35°C) with consistent background noise from server equipment

Key Job Responsibilities

- Prepare, label, and route fiber optic and copper cables following detailed technical work instructions

- Connect cables to network equipment including patch panels, distribution frames, and switches

- Execute connection validation tests using internal software tools to confirm correct signal paths

- Manage cable inventory, monitor stock levels, and maintain organized storage areas

- Coordinate daily with the team regarding task assignments, progress updates, and any blockers

- Adhere to all safety protocols including mandatory use of personal protective equipment and compliance with site access procedures

A day in the life

Your day starts with a quick team stand-up where your lead assigns positions and reviews priorities. You collect your materials, check your work instructions, and head into the data hall.

Most of your time is hands-on: routing cables, climbing ladders, making connections, and running validation tests. You track your progress using tools built by your own colleagues, part of a culture where technicians actively contribute to improving how things are done.

This is not a role where you simply follow orders without thinking. We encourage every team member to propose improvements. If you see a process that could be faster, safer, or more efficient, we want to hear it. Several of our current tools and operational procedures were designed by technicians who identified a gap and built the solution. We use AI-powered platforms to assist with documentation and troubleshooting, and we value people who are curious enough to explore them.

Beyond your core work, you will have opportunities to participate in safety improvement projects, volunteering events, team culture initiatives, and cross-building rotation to learn new technologies. The environment is dynamic: new network architectures arrive regularly, buildings are constantly expanding, and the team is growing.

- High school or equivalent diploma

- Are 18 years of age or older

- Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems

- STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education

About Amazon

Amazon hires more engineers in Europe than anyone else on this board, across Dublin, London, Berlin, Madrid, Luxembourg and Gdańsk. The breadth is the point: AWS infrastructure, retail systems, devices and logistics are very different jobs under one name, and team quality varies a lot between them. Worth filtering by role rather than browsing.
