You will be joining the Tools and Machine learning (Tamale) team as a Software Development Manager. As part of EU INTech, Tamale strives to solve complex catalog quality problems using challenging machine learning and data analysis solutions. You will be exposed to big data and machine learning technologies, along to all Amazon catalog technology stack, and you'll be part of a key effort to improve our customers experience by tackling and preventing defects in items in Amazon's catalog.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Manager (SDM), you’ll lead a team of engineers and you will collaborate with scientists and internal partners on solutions to provide relevant visual content. To succeed in this role, you believe in high standards for code quality, testing, and operational excellence. You create mechanisms for achieving results and iterating improvements and can lead a team to deliver results in a space that operates like a start-up, with the autonomy to build the right solution from Day One. As a SDM with our team, you will collaborate with other internal managers and leaders on technical designs with a career opportunity for growth that only Amazon can offer.

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience in engineering team management

- Experience in engineering

- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
