Principal Engineer - Full Stack Mobile and BackendRole Purpose

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to serve as a collaborative technical leader for our full stack team building and running the Travel Ready Native solution. This position involves working across mobile (iOS and Android) and backend components, sharing expertise, and supporting the growth of the entire team. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, designing scalable solutions, and continuously improving engineering practices.

In this role, you'll:

Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient solutions on mobile and backend components.

Contribute to the full product lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, feasibility, planning, and delivery.

Identify and resolve complex technical issues, including during production and rollout phases.

Apply coding best practices, including secure development, code reviews, testing, and refactoring.

Design architectures that consider performance, resilience, and user experience across mobile and backend systems.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure reliable CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and deployment readiness.

Suggest enhancements to reduce technical debt and improve engineering processes.

Share knowledge through mentoring, collaborative sessions, and internal community events.

Your Profile

Extensive experience as a senior software engineer or technical lead in complex environments.

Comfortable working across mobile platforms (iOS, Android) and backend systems.

Solid understanding of SDK constraints, mobile lifecycle, and API-driven architectures.

Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred), containerization, and CI/CD automation.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Familiarity with Agile development practices.

Collaborative mindset with openness to continuous learning and improvement.

Willingness to learn and apply AI-based tools for development and automation.

Ability to operate with autonomy and contribute to cross-functional projects.

Based in Lisbon (flexibility options can be discussed).

Knowledge of airline or airport operations, or digital identity solutions, is a plus.
