Who is actually hiring engineers in Europe right now

382 employers, 20,151 open European roles, 37 countries. Queried from the board when you loaded this page, not typed out last quarter.

Most "who is hiring" articles are a list somebody assembled once. This one is a query. The tables below were computed at the moment this page was rendered, out of the same database that serves the board, so if an employer closed forty roles this morning that is already reflected here.

Two things it can tell you that a filter panel cannot: who is hiring at volume right now, and who has actually opened something recently, which are different questions, and the second is usually the more useful one.

The employers with the most open European roles

"Added in 30 days" is the column to read. A large open count can be a company that hires constantly, or one with a stale board and a slow recruiting process. A large 30-day number is a company that is moving now.

Below the table there are another 357 employers carrying 10,975 roles between them, which is where most of the board actually lives. The top of a list like this is always dominated by a handful of very large hirers; the interesting roles are usually not there.

How to read a big number here

A caution worth more than the table itself. A company with 1,700 open roles is not 1,700 opportunities for you. Large boards are dominated by non-engineering functions, by the same req duplicated across a dozen locations, and by long-lived pipeline postings that are open permanently. Filter to your role and your seniority before drawing any conclusion about whether an employer is worth your week.

Where the roles are

Open European roles by country. A role open in three cities counts in each country it is open in, which is why these add to more than the board total.

The distribution is the same one everyone in this market already feels: the UK and Germany carry a large share of the volume, the Netherlands, Spain, France and Ireland make up a solid second tier, and the Nordics and CEE are smaller but far less crowded per role, which is a real strategic point rather than a consolation. Fewer postings and fewer applicants is often a better place to be than the reverse.

What "hiring now" is worth knowing

4,561 roles landed on this board in the last seven days, and 15,282 in the last thirty. Against 20,151 open roles, that is the small live slice of an otherwise mostly-decided market, and it is the slice worth organising your search around, because half of everything here is gone within 10 days and the shortlist is drawn long before that.

Which is the practical use of this page: not to admire the totals, but to pick two or three employers whose 30-day number is high, and watch them properly. You can follow an employer from any of the links above and be mailed when they open something, which is a much better use of a Tuesday than re-reading a board you have already read.

Notes on the data

  • Counts are open, published roles in the European region, taken from each employer's own applicant tracking system and refreshed hourly. A role removed from an employer's board is closed here within the hour, so these are live figures rather than an archive.
  • "Mostly in" is the country the largest share of that employer's open European roles sits in, not their headquarters.
  • Employers with no open European roles do not appear at all, which is why this list is shorter than the number of boards actually being read.
  • Country totals count a multi-location role once per country, so they sum to more than the board total. Roles whose location could not be resolved to a country are excluded from the country table and included everywhere else.
